Everything You Need to Know about Air Conditioners

Sharp Air Conditioners: Portable and Window Models

Sharp is a name that has long been known in the industry, and although it isn’t as resonant today as it was before, it still produces many quality lines of electronics. For the home, Sharp air conditioners are one product line that truly excels. The two types of air conditioners from Sharp are the portable and the window type models.

Portable Air Conditioners

Portable air conditioners are popular because they are ideal for people who frequently change residences or rooms. For renters, these air conditioners are convenient because they can be taken at the end of the lease. All you have to do is plug in the unit and you’re set.

There are very few models of portable air conditioners from Sharp. There are five models which range in cooling capacities, and depending on the room or area that you want to cool, the model that best fits your needs and preferences will vary.

Models CV-P13PX and CV-PD13PX are both capable of a cooling capacity up to 13,000 BTU. They also both have the Library Quiet design which ensures that these models are noiseless in operation. Models CV-P10PC and CV-P10RC are both capable of a maximum cooling capacity of 10,000 BTU and they also have the Library Quiet design. The model CV-P12PX is capable of a maximum cooling capacity of 11,500 BTU and it has the Plasmacluster Ion Technology that allows the device to release positive and negative ions to freshen the air and remove pollutants.

Window Air Conditioners

Window air conditioners are more appreciated by the consumer market because of their traditional appeal and classic feel that has long been seen in movies and old houses. These models are the conventional types of air conditioners which is why most buyers still consider purchase them. Window air conditioners need to be installed through windows because they have vents at the side of the casement, allowing excess water to drip out and exit the casement properly. If these models are inserted through walls, the water will build up in the wall and may cause water damage and mold formation. This will also greatly damage the air conditioner itself.

There are more models of window air conditioners from Sharp and what’s great about them is that all of them are Energy Star compliant. This means that they are able to reduce energy consumption to at least 10% the rate of ordinary air conditioner unit usage.

These models come in different cooling capacities which are basically the only differences between each and every one of them. There are models which have cooling capacities which are as low as 6,000 BTU, 6,300 BTU, and 8,000 BTU, and there are also those which are capable of maximum cooling capacities of 10,000 BTU and 12,000 BTU.

Conclusion

The variations of Sharp air conditioners may be limited to only two classifications, but they are all solid investments. Sharp is a household name that has been around for a long time, and has earned its trust.
