Carrier is a global brand that had actually invented modern air conditioners back in 1902. Not only does the Carrier name produce air conditioners for commercial use but for residential as well. KCA Series
This series contains 5 different window air conditioners. Their BTUs range from 5000 to 12000. 2 of the models have EER ratings of 9.7 and the other 3 with higher capacities have EERs of 9.8. Unfortunately, none of these models are energy efficient. However, all but one of them, the KCA051D, has an energy saver switch. The features in this series all vary. The 3 lower capacity models have 2 fan speeds and fixed chassis’. 2 of them have 2-way air flow while the others have 4-way air flow. All of them have easy touch pads and remote operation.
X/Y Heat and Cool Series
Like the KCA series, the X/Y Heat and Cool series also has 5 models to choose from. This series is not only made to cool and heat larger residential spaces but commercial spaces as well. Their capacities range from 10200 to 23500 cooling BTU with the capacity to heat not being too far behind. All of the models share the same features such as 3 cooling speeds, 2 heating speeds, 6-way air flow, and energy saver switches.
X/Y Cool Series
This series includes 9 models with BTUs from 10200 to 26500. These Carrier room air conditioners are also made for residential and commercial use. The EERs are anywhere from 8.5 to 10.2. All models have 3 fan speeds, 6-way air flow, and energy saver switches.
X/Y Heat Pump Series
The 4 different models in this series are perfect for year round comfort. Their cooling capacities range from 10400 to 17500 BTU. The heating capacities vary greatly seeing as the units can produce electric heat or use the heating pump. The models all share certain features such as 3 cooling speeds, 2 heating speeds, 6-way air flow, energy saver modes, and the same dimensions.
FCB Series
These 3 thru-the-wall/ window models have cooling BTU of 5000, 6000, and 8000. They are energy efficient having either a 10 or 10.2 EER. All 3 models have 4-way air direction, remotes, 3 fan speeds, and the same dimensions.
52F Series
This series’ models are designed to be specifically thru-the-wall units. 3 of the 5 models in this series have the capability to heat. The cooling BTUs range from 8000 to 12000. All of them come with remotes and have the same dimensions. Although their dimensions are the same, their weights are different. Their EERs are either 9 or 9.4.
