XStar
The XStar models are the smallest of the Friedrich window air conditioners. They are capable of cooling rooms up to 450sq ft. All of the XStar units have the same dimensions. They are made of commercial grade materials for durability. Most of these models come with 3 fan and cooling speeds, a 24 hour timer, and remote control operation. There is one XStar model that has the capability of heating a room too. 3 out of 5 of these models are Energy Star qualified.
CP
The CP window models are the cheapest out of all 3 types of Friedrich’s window air conditioners. Though they are the lowest in price, their features are quite similar. Every CP model is Energy Star qualified and comes with a timer, an energy saver setting, washable anti-bacterial filter, and a remote control. The BTU’s of these models range from 5500 to 24230. None of the CP models are able to produce heat unlike the other 2 types of Friedrich window air conditioners.
