Everything You Need to Know about Air Conditioners

Haier Window Air Conditioners: The Facts

Haier is not only a maker of air conditioners, but they are a global brand that is widely known for the quality of all their products and appliances. As far as Haier window air conditioners go, there are 10 different models to choose from, all of them with various features and BTUs. Here are some facts about all Haier window air conditioners to help guide you in your decision.

Fact #1

Most Haier window air conditioners are Energy Star qualified. This means that they are energy efficient and will use at least 10% less energy than the standard air conditioner unit. This will save you money and help the environment at the same time. Air conditioners are one of the most energy consuming appliances, having an Energy Star compliant unit should be a priority on your list of needs in an air conditioner. Luckily, most of Haier’s products are energy efficient.

Fact #2

8 out of the 10 different window air conditioner models made by Haier have both dehumidifier functionality and energy saving modes. They also include 3 fan speeds as well as 3 cooling settings. The 2 models that don’t have any of these features are the 5,000 BTU Mechanical Control Air Conditioner / HWF05XCK and the 5,000 BTU Electronic Control Air Conditioner / HWR05XCK. However, these 2 models do include 2 fan speeds and 2 cooling settings instead of 3.

Fact #3

Haier’s window units range from as low as 5000 BTU to as high as 24000 BTU. They have the capacity to cool rooms anywhere from 100sq ft to 1500sq ft depending on what model you choose. All the models feature different BTUs other than that of the HWF05XCK and HWR05XCK which both have only 5000 BTU. The 24000 BTU model and the 18000 BTU model both require higher voltage.

Fact #4

Many reviews written by purchasers have commented on Haier air conditioners quieter operation. Haier is known to have lower decibel ranges in their portable window units than other name brands. Considering there is no standardized method for testing noise levels of window air conditioners, the decibel ratings cannot be assured as accurate ratings.

Fact #5

All Haier window air conditioners come with remote control operation except for one model, the HWF05XCK with 5000 BTU. This particular model is mechanically controlled. That is the one difference between the HWF05XCK and the HWR05XCK.

Being a global and well known name brand in air conditioners and other various appliances is a good reason to purchase from Haier. They have proven they can produce quality and energy efficient air conditioners. All their window air conditioners have nearly all the same features and functions. Compare each one and decide which one is right for you based on the amount of BTU and EER they each have. Haier window air conditioners are reasonably priced as well. They aren’t the cheapest air conditioners out there but they aren’t the most expensive either. Good luck!
