Often window air conditioners can stick out so far from your window that it is unattractive and sometimes even a hindrance depending on where you live. Most low profile window air conditioners are made to cool smaller rooms, such as bedrooms or small offices. This LG model has the same BTU and EER as the Frigidaire FRA064VUI. Though this units features aren’t as plentiful, having 3 fan speeds, 3 cooling speeds, 12 hour timer, remote control, and 4-way air direction. This unit also acts as a dehumidifier and has an energy saver mode.

This General Electric model has 7000 BTU and an EER of 10.0. It is not Energy Star rated. The features of this low profile air conditioner include 3 fan and cooling speeds, electronic controls, 12 hour timer and a slide-out filter.
Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of options or brands out there that make low profile air conditioners. It can be especially difficult to find a low profile unit that has a BTU higher than 7000. However, if 6000 or 7000 BTU is what you need to cool your room, then these are some great options. All of the above models are made by renowned names in the air conditioning industry as well as other products. They all come with warranties and are rather cheap. Other than the G.E. model, the other 3 have quite a few great features to offer. All but the GE model are Energy Star rated too. In the long run, having an Energy Star rated unit will save you money as well as the environment. If none these units have what you are looking for, you can always look into purchasing a mini window air conditioner. They may not be quite as small or quiet as the low profile units but they are smaller than the standard window units.
