Maytag is a brand that specializes in home appliances, mostly for the kitchen and laundry room. They do however have several different types of air conditioners too, from central air to window units. This model has 6000 BTU and an EER of 9.7. It isn’t nearly as energy efficient as an Energy Star rated unit. This unit is rather small with its dimensions being 18 5/8” W x 12 ¼” H x 15 1/8” D. This model has quite a few features, including 2 fan and cooling speeds, 2-way air direction, slide out filter, 24 hour timer, auto cool mode, and remote control operation.
Maytag M7Q08F2A
With an EER of 10.8 and a BTU of 8000, this unit is Energy Star compliant. This unit’s features include remote operation, a reusable filter, 3 fan and cooling speeds, and 4-way air direction. Its dimensions are 20” W x 12.5” H x 19.88” D.
Maytag M6Y12F2D
This 12000 BTU unit has a lower EER of 9.8 meaning it isn’t very energy efficient. It does have some great features though. It has 3 fan and cooling speeds, 4-way air direction, a remote control, slide-out reusable filter, energy saver and auto cool modes, and a 24 hour timer. The dimensions of this model are 23.6” W x 15” H x 21.75” D.
Maytag M6Y18F7A
This Maytag model is also not Energy Star rated. It has an 18000 BTU and a 9.7 EER. It has the same features of the M6Y12F2D. It even has the same dimensions.
Maytag M7D24E7D
At 24000 BTU, this Maytag window air conditioners able to cool a room as large as 1500sq ft. The features are the same as the last 3 Maytag models listed. It has a rather low EER of 8.5. Its dimensions are a little larger at 26.5” W x 17.25” H x 25.4” D.
Although Maytag is usually known for the quality of their products, they don’t actually deal with the air conditioners under their brand name, because of this, their air conditioners lack the quality usually associated with the Maytag name. Customer reviews are very mixed, showing more negativity about the Maytag window air conditioners than positivity. Their units also aren’t very energy efficient which will cost you more and force the unit to work harder to produce cold air. Another noticeable thing about Maytag air conditioners is that they all vary in dimensions and EER. However, their features, with the exception of the smaller BTU units, all have the same features. This is good for customers planning on purchasing from the Maytag brand. It is less confusing. Their air conditioners are rather cheap too. They aren’t the cheapest units around but they aren’t too pricey either. If you plan on purchasing an air conditioner from Maytag, be sure to take their units’ BTUs, quality, EER, features, and price, into consideration first.
